Golf Blog Post 4 ~ Golf Swing Power Move

Golf Swing Power Move

Welcome back to My Golf Swing Guide!

Nice Course!Today’s free golf tip is the golf swing power move. The best way to achieve greater shot distance is to increase your club head speed. The only way to achieve maximum power to gain club head speed is with proper hip turn and movement which is considered a golf swing power move.

The best way to do this is to think of your golf swing as a coiling and uncoiling action. To achieve optimum power you will need to coil slowly and uncoil at a rapid rate.

It’s all in the hips

Hip turn at top of the backswingThe turn of the hip allows for more leverage and increases speed of the uncoiling action. As your backswing begins the hips move away from the target. You do not move or turn your hips until just before reaching the top of your backswing. This allows your club shaft to become similar to a whip and this creates maximum club head speed when impacting on the ball.

Next time you need to make that power shot try this technique as your golf swing power move to improve your distance.

There is an easy way to remember these four basics and if you can remember G.A.S.P you will remember all four. The word G.A.S.P stands for the following:

If you want to improve your golf swing and you overall game then you need to play smart. This means that every time it’s your turn and you are about to address the ball, all you need to do is to go through your mental checklist.
